Staffing is a function carried across all levels within an organisation, and it involves multiple activities from the time employees join an organisation and continues till the time they leave. Recruitment is carried out only during the initial stages of hiring a candidate. The staffing function includes recruitment, selection, training, development, transfer, promotion and compensation of personnel. Briefly, internal recruitment is when you source candidates to fill a role from within your existing workforce. External recruitment is when you go outside of your company to attract people you've never met before.
